About CCM

The Center for Comparative Medicine provides the veterinary care and maintenance of animal health for all animals used in biomedical research at MGH.  Our activities include animal procurement and quarantine, routine husbandry, rodent breeding, veterinary support, training in animal handling and sampling techniques, and animal model consultation for many vertebrate species. We also invite inquiries about special needs you may have in establishing or maintaining your population of research animal subjects.

CCM’s Mission

1. Provide reliable, affordable, and responsive laboratory animal care and research services in pursuit of scientific knowledge and medical breakthroughs;
2. Avoid or minimize pain and distress in animals under our care;
3. Maintain a fulfilling, respectful, and safe workplace.
