STANDARD FEE SCHEDULE

Animal Per Diem Rates
Per Diem fees include regularly scheduled cleaning, feeding and observation of animals supported by MGH research grants only. Any special diets, bedding, or other supplies will be provided by the investigator or purchased for the investigator by CCM at cost plus 25%. The maximum number of animals per cage may not exceed the IACUC cage capacity policy. Chemical hazard, radioactive or quarantine housing may also entail additional charges above the per diem. For planning purposes, please expect rates to increase 3% annually. (Future prices are preliminary and subject to change). Professional / Technical Services

CCM staff are available Monday – Friday 7:00 AM -3:30 PM. CCM staff may provide special services during off hours only by prior agreement. Overtime will be charged at 1.5X the hourly rate. Holidays will be charged at 2.5X the hourly rate. There is a 4 hour minimum charge for emergency evening / weekend / holiday coverage.
Anesthesia Support
**Please give at least 2 weeks notice for scheduling. CCM may not be able to accommodate all requests although all attempts will be made to do so.

- Performed by vet tech or veterinary level – billed hourly for direct support time. All animal transport will be billed at applicable rates. Includes: Vet/vet tech for monitoring, Isoflurane unit (PI to supply Isoflurane), Vital parameter monitor, Equipment set-up, Anesthesia induction and maintenance (PI to supply meds), Intravenous (IV) catheter placement, IV fluid administration, endotracheal intubation, warm water blanket, post-operative/post-procedural recovery, routine supplies (e.g. syringes, ETT, fluids, etc.; this excludes study medications). It is MGH policy that researchers must supply their own federally controlled substances for any protocol-related procedure.” à “Performed by vet tech or veterinary level – billed hourly for direct support time. - Billable rate for use of a mobile Isoflurane unit is $10.00 per hour. You must provide your own liquid Isoflurane.
If using with the mobile mechanical ventilator, it is an additional $5.00/hour. Additional equipment rental rates are available upon request.
Surgical Facilities and Services
The Knight Surgical Research Laboratory (KSRL) maintains 2 facilities within MGH. The main campus facility is located in the Thier research building while the CNY facility is located in CNY-149. Both facilities contain 2 fully equipped operating suites along with dedicated scrub areas and instrument prep rooms. Additionally the core maintains a wetlab on the main campus for hematology and chemistry analysis. Digital radiography, ultrasonography and fluoroscopy is also available. Michael J.
