CITI Training / Occupational Health Requirements

  • CITI training and Occupational Health Requirements vary depending on the species used and the procedures approved in the IACUC protocol
  • For NEW protocols, TRIENNIAL review applications and non-Study Amendments, CITI training and Occupational Health clearance must be in place prior to IACUC approval
  • For STAFF AMENDMENTS, CITI Training and Occupational Health clearance should be in place prior to submission to the IACUC

All Study Staff (MGH and non-MGH) on an MGH IACUC Protocol must complete the CITI training requirement

Occupational Health Clearance

All personnel must maintain a current OHS Clearance. Not doing so will impact IACUC protocol approvals.
  • NHPs: research staff must have obtained clearance from OHS within the past year.
    • To obtain a new or updated clearance to work with NHPs, contact Occupational Health at 617-726-2217 to schedule TB surveillance.
    • If you have proof of TB surveillance from another provider, email it to mgbohsanimalclearance@partners.org or fax it to 617-643-5570.  Include Animal Research OHS Clearance in the email or fax Subject line.
  • All other species: research staff must have obtained clearance from OHS within the past 3 years
    • To obtain a new or updated clearance, please complete this form and send it to OHS for review. This is a fillable PDF form you can download and complete online or print it to complete.
    Once complete, the form can be sent by email as a PDF attachment or by fax. Subject: Animal Research OHS Clearance Email: mgbohsanimalclearance@partners.org Fax: 617-643-5570**Please allow up to five (5) business days for Insight to be updated with clearance information.**NOTE: This screening form is to obtain OHS clearance for working with research animals only and does not replace the new employee occupational health appointment.  New employees must follow instructions for the new employee OHS appointment.  Working with animals can be addressed as part of that appointment. Please notify OHS which species you will be working with and ask them to enter your clearance into Insight at that appointment.
