MGH Contracting Guidance Decision Tree

Have a contract that you just don’t know what to do with?  Who will review this and sign it?  For situations where an MGH staff member wishes to PARTICIPATE in a project with an outside entity, the MGH Contracting Guidance Decision Tree will ask you the important questions and lead you to the best place to start.

Note:  Multiple offices may work together to direct your agreement to the appropriate office.

The MGH Contracting Guidance Decision Tree does not currently apply to Materials Management (purchasing/procurement), Development (gifts/philanthropy), stand-alone Material Transfer or Data Use Agreements (transactions).  Those agreements are certainly important and we hope to be able to include them in this or other guidance at a future date. Click here for the full introductory presentation.

Please contact Mary Gervino (mgervino@partners.org) with feedback.

Before you start, be sure you can answer YES to these three questions:

Is this agreement with an outside entity (not internal to MGH)?

Does this agreement cover a project that is collaboration, programmatic activity, or involves an on-going relationship?

Is an MGH staff member participating in this project?
